Weekdays 3p-6p on Beach, Boogie & Blues!

I was conceived in February 1966. It was a cold night just before Valentine’s Day. Johnny Mathis was playing and the Château Le mad dog was flowing. OK, I guess you want me to skip ahead a bit.

As a young boy I knew that I loved Radio a lot. I knew I wanted to do Radio. I used to pretend that I was reading the news on the radio. I used to pretend I was a disc jockey with all my 45’s and cassettes, I guess all of us in radio did that at one time or another. Fast-forward to my sophomore year in high school. I got up the nerve to call my local station in Farmville and ask if they had anything I could do. I would’ve done anything to get a spot on the radio, so on July 30th, 1983, I started in Radio as a board operator for NASCAR races and doing a couple of shifts a week and anything they would allow me to do on my hometown country station. I was in heaven, so for the last 41+ years I have been in the Radio business. Like anything in life, Radio has changed a lot. I still love it as much today as I did on day one. I still believe in the power of local radio, and how cool it is to relate one on one to a listener or as I call you, friend. I still get a thrill when someone calls and ask for something, or says “man I love that song you played what is it? Where can I find it?”

I’ve been with Beach boogie and blues since it’s inception on January 12, 2009. I can’t tell you how proud I am to be a part of the team. I can’t tell you how proud I am of the radio station. My heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone that I work with, and everyone that has ever spent any time with Beach, Boogie, and Blues on the radio, online or wherever. The last 15+ years there has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears to help keep Beach, Boogie and Blues going, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I hope you will join me weekday afternoons 3 to 6. I am one blessed and lucky man to be able to do what I love. I thank God every day for the opportunity to be a part of the Radio business. I also want to send my love and thanks to my family for supporting me and helping me live my dream. They know how much I love the Radio business. I have called myself a radio geek for a long time. You can call me that and I’ll say thank you.
