KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – A Kinston man has pleaded guilty to the armed robbery of a vape store earlier this year.
The Kinston Police Department says Matthew Wyche has pleaded guilty to robbing Kinston Tobacco and Vape with a dangerous weapon on January 5th.
Officers say they spoke to victims in the store on North Queen Street after getting calls about the armed robbery. Police say Wyche ran from the store after getting cash from the clerk.
The police department says after arrest warrants for Wyche were obtained, the 34-year-old Kinston man was arrested on January 7th.
Wyche faces a 4 to 6-year sentence after pleading guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon in Lenoir County Superior Court Wednesday.
Officials say he must also pay fines, court costs, and restitution to the victim.
