GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A city in the east is set to get an economic boost thanks to an Eastern Carolina manufacturing company’s expansion.
On Wednesday, Attindas Hygiene Partners announced plans for two more lines to support manufacturing of hygiene products from its distribution facility in Greenville.
The company says the move will bring $26,000,000 in capital investment to the county over the next five years.
President and CEO of Greenville ENC Alliance Josh Lewis says this is nothing new for the tarheel state.
“North Carolina is attractive to businesses. They have local income taxes. We have better quality of life in a lot of places, and we’re happy to promote it, and we’re just getting started in getting the story of Greenville out there. Greenville, Pitt County is kind of a hidden gem, and it’s not going to be hidden for too much longer,” says Lewis.
According to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Attindas received a $250,000 building reuse grant from the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority in the existing business building category to support the renovation of their 666,000-square-foot building on Old Creek Road.
Attindas Hygiene Partners says the expansion project means 25 new jobs with an average pay of $56,000 per year.
The company says it has also been awarded a grant of $75,000 from the state’s One North Carolina Fund.
